In my Argentine Malbec review (August 2015), I briefly talked about resveratrol, which is a phenolic compound widely regarded as having many heart-health benefits.
Of new interest on this subject, Glen Miller of the University of New Hampshire claims to have developed coffee infused with resveratrol. The infusion takes place during the roasting process for his product CoffVee. One cup of the coffee is said to provide the same amount of resveratrol as one glass of red wine.
Closer to home, biodynamic winery Southbrook Vineyards of Niagara on the Lake, offers their health promoting additive product named “Bioflavia”, an organic red wine grape skin powder. If you don’t already know this winery, it is one of the most interesting and most beautiful in the Niagara region. Well worth a visit.
